Dermaplanning

Dermaplaning: Everthing you need to know

Dermaplaning is a highly effective method of exfoliation. Considered a medical-grade exfoliation, Dermaplaning is carried out using a small scalpel for the controlled removal of the outermost layer of skin, removing dead skin cells, as well as the fine vellous facial hair (“peach fuzz”); thus resulting in a smoother and more radiant complexion. Furthermore Dermplaning stimulates and rejuvenates skin tissue, making it an effective way to reduce acne scarring, uneven pigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles.

Benefits of Dermaplaning:

– Reveals healthier, brighter more radiant skin
-Minimises the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation
-Increased absorption of skincare products
-Immediately Smooths skin texture
-Minimises appearance of pores
-Natural treatment with no downtime
-Removes unwanted facial hair
-Treatment time only 45 mins
-Primes the skin for further more invasive treatments.

Dermaplaning is the perfect treatment for anyone who is passionate about retaining a natural glowing, flawless complexion. The treatment can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as chemical peels and laser rejuvenation treatments. It is non-invasive and does not require the use of any chemicals and is thus suitable even for our pregnant and nursing clients. This treatment may be performed every 4 to 6 weeks.

Side effects of Dermaplaning:

-The possibility of a nick or cut may occur, this is unlikely as every precaution and care is taken to avoid this.
-In some cases patients may experience redness, irritation, blemishes, dryness, acne breakout and/or cold sores.
These side effects are very rare and usually subside in a day or two.
